A handheld tester for checking each part of a 4K HDMI chain: it analyses sources, generates test patterns for displays, tests cables and manages EDID. Cable test mode shows whether a lead will pass 18Gbps, and analyser mode can downscale a 4K source to 1080p. It runs from a lithium-ion battery or USB power, so it can be used in a rack or behind a wall-mounted screen with no mains nearby.
