Tom Drum Heads

Tom heads are where head choice is easiest to hear across a kit, because toms are tuned to sing rather than crack. This section is all Evans, in single heads and three-drum Rock Packs.

Singles come in G1 Clear across 10″, 12″, 13″, 14″ and 16″; G2 Coated in 10″, 12″, 13″ and 16″; and EC2 Clear across 10″, 12″, 13″, 14″ and 16″. The Rock Packs cover 10″, 12″ and 16″ in G2 Coated, EC2 Clear or UV2 Coated.

Think about the music first. G1 Clear is the open, resonant choice, suited to jazz, lighter styles and drummers who want the toms to sustain. The G2 Coated gives a warmer, rounder note with less ring. EC2 Clear is the focused, controlled clear head, with the attack of a clear head but a shorter, fatter note, which suits loud rock stages where long tom ring builds up in the mics. The UV2 Coated pack gives a two-ply coated option for players who like a coated feel on a hard-hit kit.

Rock Packs suit a kit with one 10″ and one 12″ rack tom and a 16″ floor tom. If your toms are 13″ and 14″, or you have extra drums, buy singles to match. Tom Heads FAQs

Does a Rock Pack fit my kit? Rock Packs contain 10″, 12″ and 16″ heads, so they fit a kit with those three tom sizes. Other configurations need single heads in matching sizes.

Can I use these heads on the bottom of my toms? They are sold as batter heads, but many drummers fit a single-ply clear head such as the G1 Clear underneath as a resonant head. Match the size to the shell.
