About AV Control: IP Keypads & Controllers

AV control units give a room a simple front end and let a network reach the kit that has no network port of its own. They suit meeting rooms, lecture spaces, bars and venues where staff need a button to press rather than a pile of remotes.

There are four CYP units here, all PoE powered. The CR-KP4-W and CR-KP4-B are the same 8-button IP keypad controller in white or black, The CR-CS2 is an IP controller with relay, IR and RS-232 outputs, which covers screens and projectors via IR or RS-232, and things like motorised screens or blinds via the relay. The CR-IPS1 is a simpler IP to serial controller with one RS-232/422/485 port, for bridging a single serial device onto the network.

Before buying, list every device in the room and how it is controlled. If the mix is IR, RS-232 and a relay job or two, the CR-CS2 covers it; if one serial device simply needs to be reached over IP, the CR-IPS1 is enough. Add a keypad wherever users need local buttons. They sit alongside the HDMI Switchers & Matrices and AV over IP ranges.

AV Control FAQs

Do the CYP keypads need a separate power supply? No, the CR-KP4 keypads are PoE powered, so they run from a PoE network switch or injector over the network cable.

Which controller do I need for a projector with an RS-232 port? The CR-IPS1 bridges one serial device onto IP. If you also need IR or relay control for other devices in the room, the CR-CS2 covers all three.
