Installed audio has different priorities from live sound. Nobody stands behind a mixer, the system runs every day for years, and the people operating it are bar staff, receptionists and teachers rather than engineers. That changes what to buy: coverage, control and reliability come before raw output, and the wall panel matters as much as the loudspeaker.

Commercial and background audio covers the foundation of this work. It explains 100V line distribution and why nearly every commercial ceiling uses it, how to zone a building so the restaurant, the bar and the toilets can run at different levels, how many ceiling speakers a given area actually needs, and where a low impedance system is still the right answer. It also covers the amplifier and zone controller decision, which determines how staff use the system day to day and how much of it they can break.

Conference room AV deals with meeting spaces and hybrid working, where the microphone system is doing the heavy lifting. It covers room sizing, choosing between table, ceiling and gooseneck microphones, echo cancellation for remote participants, display sizing against viewing distance, and the cabling and control decisions that are expensive to revisit once the room is finished.

Both guides share a theme worth repeating: specify the coverage before the products. Establish whether the building is wired for 100V line or low impedance, count the zones, decide who needs to control what, and only then choose speakers and amplification. Retrofitting zoning into a finished ceiling is the most expensive mistake in this category, and it is entirely avoidable at the drawing stage.
