About Line Arrays

Scalable line array elements and the flying hardware to deploy them, centred on Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision family, with WPS, WPM, WPC and WPL elements covering everything from compact club hangs to festival main systems, alongside NEXO elements, TORUS lifting frames and transition bars, and rigging steels and tools from ELLER and Global Truss.

Wavefront Precision boxes are passive and driven by Martin Audio’s iKon amplifiers, where the number of amplifier channels per array sets the optimisation resolution, so the amplifier package is part of the array decision rather than an afterthought. Pick the element size by throw and audience depth, from the compact WPM and the 8 inch WPS up through WPC to the full-size WPL. Every hang also needs a compliant rigging plan, and the grids, pull-back bars and transition bars in the rigging sub-category are engineered per cabinet family, not interchangeable. In the UK, flown systems fall under LOLER, so factor certification, inspection records and competent riggers into the project alongside the boxes.

The amplifiers, rigging hardware and steels to complete a hang are all here, and array design advice is available before any of it is ordered.

Line Array FAQs

When does a room justify a line array? When throw and consistent coverage across depth beat the simplicity of point source, typically several hundred capacity upwards or long rooms. Under that, see the point source argument first.

What drives Wavefront Precision? Martin Audio’s iKon amplifiers with the family presets, element counts and amp channels are designed as a system, so spec them together. Amp logic in matching amplifiers and speakers.

What about flying hardware? TORUS frames, transition bars and rated steels live here, and array rigging is LOLER territory like everything else overhead: see the rigging duties summary.
