About Powerlock

Single-pole connectors for high-current three phase feeds: the Elumen8 Powersafe range in 500A and 800A series, covering line source and drain connectors, panel-mount versions and reduction kits, with each pole coded brown, black and grey for the phases, blue for neutral and green for earth.

Series choice follows conductor size: the 500A bodies here terminate 120mm² and 150mm² single-core cable while the 800A parts take 240mm², so measure what you are terminating before ordering. Source and drain variants exist so that exposed contacts are never live, which means being clear about power flow direction when speccing panels and jumper sets, not just counting connectors. The phase colour coding runs through the whole system and supports standard single-pole working practice: earth connected first and removed last, with phases made after earth and neutral and broken before them. Reduction kits adapt the cable entry where the conductor is smaller than the standard gland.

The 400A Powerlock distribution unit in our power distribution category is the natural companion to these connectors.

Powerlock FAQs

500A or 800A series? Follow conductor size: 500A bodies terminate 120-150 mm² single cores, 800A takes 240 mm². Measure what you are terminating before ordering.

What do the colours mean? Phase coding: brown, black and grey for phases, blue neutral, green earth, one pole per connector on high-current three-phase feeds.

Why source and drain variants? So exposed contacts are never live: sources have recessed pins for supply ends, drains for load ends. The wider distribution picture is in power distribution explained.
