The unobtrusive SE Electronics BL8 omni boundary microphone offers a powerful recording experience. Equipped with an SE8 small-diaphragm capsule for excellent transient response and tight low-frequency response, this PZM is ideal for bass drums. The transformerless circuit handles high sound pressure effortlessly. With a tone-shaping switch, the ‘modern’ setting delivers a punky rock/metal bass drum, while the ‘classic’ setting creates a rounded sound. The BL8 is also an excellent microphone for room-miking. Thanks to the omnidirectional directional characteristic, the frequency response remains very natural regardless of the distance from the sound source, as you are not affected by the proximity effect.
