The AVC2 is the alternative to a cut-off limiter: instead of killing the power when the room gets too loud, it quietly turns the system down. It sits in the line between the mixer and the amplifiers; below the threshold it does nothing, and above it, it fades the output down in steps so the level in the room barely changes however hard the DJ pushes. Because it works on the average level rather than peaks, the dynamics of the music are left alone, and at full attenuation it takes off more than the extra input, so there is no reward for driving the mixer into the red.

Secure the amplifiersThe AVC2 controls the level it sends to the amplifiers, so the amps need to be locked away or their controls set and secured, otherwise the limit can be undone downstream. A tamper-proof rear cover and snap rivets are supplied to seal the settings. For control by a microphone in the room, see the AVC2D.
