Le Mark: Our Tape Range

Roll of MagTape gaffer tape on a broadcast camera

We sell a lot of tape, and until recently it came from several different suppliers. We’ve now moved the whole range over to Le Mark, the British company behind MagTape. You get one consistent standard across gaffer, electrical, marking and specialist tapes, and we can keep everything in stock properly.

Gaffer

MagTape Matt 500 is the one to buy if you only buy one. It’s a matt black cloth tape that tears cleanly by hand, stays put on cable runs and comes off without leaving a mess. A 50mm roll is £11, and there’s a 25mm version at £6 and a white one for labelling. For general use where the budget matters more, MagTape Utility is £7.50.

The fluorescent Xtra Matt tapes in yellow, pink and orange are what you want for spike marks and step edges that need to show up under UV.

Electrical tape and cable marking

PVC insulation tape is £1.40 a roll in twelve colours, including the harmonised brown, blue, grey and green/yellow earth.

If you run a hire stock, the Identi-Tak length ID tapes are worth a look. Each colour stands for a length, from 1m to 50m, so anyone on the crew can pick the right cable off the rack without uncoiling it. The printed Checked and Faulty status tapes make the post-show cable check a lot quicker too.

For lighting and venues

BlackTak masking foil stops light spilling where it shouldn’t, and Snoot Foil handles the heat off tungsten fixtures. Black felt tape quietens flight case lids and set pieces, and there’s anti-slip tape, hazard tape, Pro-Glow arrows for dark backstage routes, and TakAway for when someone has used the wrong tape on the floor.

We’ve written three guides to go with the range: gaffer tape explained, electrical tape and cable marking, and black wrap, felt and hazard tape.

Everything is under Self-Adhesive Tapes. If you get through tape by the box, ask us about case quantities.
