The Optimal Audio Range, and an Easier Way to Compare It

Optimal Audio Cuboid speakers installed in a restaurant dining room

Optimal Audio is the installed sound brand from Allen & Heath. It covers everything a bar, restaurant, gym or shop needs for background music and paging: speakers, subs, amplifiers, zone controllers and wall panels. We’ve stocked it for a while, and this month we filled the gaps and made the product pages much more useful.

What’s new in the range

We’ve added the Column 8 and Column 16 passive columns in black and white, a white Cuboid 8, and most of the mounting hardware that was missing before. That means U brackets for every Cuboid from the 8 to the 15, the white SB1 sub bracket, SmartAmp rack and wall kits, and the ZonePad VL1 volume control for SmartAmp systems.

Some of the new lines are made to order by Optimal Audio. The product page will tell you if something isn’t on the shelf.

Add-ons on every product page

Every Optimal Audio product now lists the accessories that go with it, with prices and an add to basket button. On the Cuboid 8, for example, you’ll see the WB1 wall bracket and the UB1 U bracket straight away, instead of having to work out which bracket fits which box.

It’s the question we get asked most about this range, and the answer is now on the page.

Compare the Range

Underneath the add-ons there’s a strip showing the rest of the family side by side, with the size, power and intended use of each one. If you’re on the Cuboid 8 and wondering whether the Cuboid 6 would do, or whether you really need the Cuboid 10, you can see it at a glance and click straight through.

Prices on both strips are shown with and without VAT, which should save installers some arithmetic.

Where to start

For a small venue, a pair of Cuboids and a SmartAmp 10 will do the job. If you need separate zones with their own sources and volume, look at the Zone 4P with a ZonePad in each room. Our guide to 100V line, zone mixers and ceiling speakers explains how the pieces fit together.

The whole range is on the Optimal Audio brand page. Send us your floor plan and we’ll suggest a system.
