LED Starcloths

LED starcloths for backdrops and stage dressing, from 3 x 2m sets for mobile work up to 9 x 4m PRO cloths for permanent installs and larger stages. Cool white, warm white and tri LED versions are available, with MKII and PRO controllers, and DMX control across the range, plus the extension cables, multipole adaptors and replacement carry bags that keep an existing cloth working.

The controller and the cloth are matched, so check which cloth a controller drives before ordering either separately. Connector generations differ too: MKI cloths use a 5 pole connector and MKII cloths a 6 pin XLR, which is the usual cause of a cloth arriving that will not talk to the controller already in the flightcase.

What size starcloth do I need?

Measure the width you want to cover and allow for gather. A 6 x 3m cloth hung flat covers a typical function room stage, while 8 x 4.5m and larger suit full stage backdrops and proscenium openings.

Are the controller and cloth sold together?

Some sets include a controller and some are cloth only, marked as excluding the controller. Check the product title, and match the controller to the cloth generation rather than assuming any controller will drive any cloth.

Can a starcloth be controlled from a lighting desk?

Yes. The PRO controller offers 12 DMX channels with independent control of eight LED groups, so a cloth can be cued alongside the rest of the rig. The MKII controllers offer 5 DMX channels along with sound-active, auto-run and auto-fade modes for standalone use.
