About Wireless Microphone Antennas and Distribution
Remote paddle antennas, boosters, splitters and mounting hardware for multi-channel radio microphone racks, drawn from Sennheiser and Shure: the EW-D ADP directional wideband paddle, the A1031-UHF passive omni, the AD1800 for 1.8 GHz systems, Shure’s UA864 wall and ceiling antenna and UA221 passive splitter, plus front-mount cable kits and brackets.
Distribution makes sense as soon as you rack more than a couple of receivers: sharing one antenna pair across the rack beats a forest of rear-panel whips fighting each other. Choose directional paddles to reject interference and reach across a room, or omnidirectional antennas where transmitters move all around the pickup zone. Passive splitters and long coax runs both cost signal, so place boosters like the EW-D AB inline where cable runs get long, and always match the antenna’s band to the system, since a UHF paddle does nothing for a 1.8 GHz rig. Front-mount kits such as the AM2 bring antennas to the rack face for clean touring builds, and wall or ceiling antennas like the UA864 keep installed systems out of sight.
Plan this section together with receivers and accessories when building a rack, since the three depend on each other.
