About Cable Ties

Loom dressing and strain management basics from Elumen8, and in this section that means reusable hook and loop cable straps rather than single-use nylon ties. Every strap wraps back on itself for an adjustable grip on any bundle size, releases one-handed on a get-out, and goes back on the next loom instead of into the bin, with no cut-off tails left at hand height on truss and stands.

The range covers six sizes, each supplied in packs of ten: a compact 10 x 90mm for mic leads, DMX, IEC tails and patch cables, then 16 x 125mm, 20 x 180mm and 25 x 245mm mid sizes for typical loom work, up to 38 x 320mm and 50 x 450mm for heavy bundles and multicores. Each size comes plain or Elumen8-branded.

The working rules are the same as any loom dressing. Match the strap length to the bundle so there is a full wrap of overlap, and never cinch signal cable so tight the jacket deforms, particularly data and coaxial lines where crushing the geometry affects performance. Hook and loop is kinder to cable jackets than a zip tie pulled hard, which is exactly why hire and touring crews standardise on it for anything struck and re-rigged weekly.

Straps sit alongside self-adhesive tapes in the neighbouring category, the cheap lines worth adding to every consumables order before the van leaves.
