About Self-Adhesive Tapes

Gaffer, PVC and cable-marking tapes for stage, touring and installation work, all from the Elumen8 tape range. This is the consumables shelf every production runs through: taping down cable runs, colour-coding circuits and dressing looms before doors.

The core roll is the Elumen8 3130 premium matt cloth gaffer in 48mm and 50mm widths by 50m, including white, red and chroma key green for camera work. The matt cloth backing stays non-reflective under stage and camera lighting, tears cleanly by hand, takes marker pen for labelling and spike marks, and lifts without leaving heavy residue on floors or cable jackets. An economy cloth gaffer in silver and white covers rough duty where premium removal characteristics matter less.

For electrical work and circuit coding there is 2702 PVC insulation tape at 19mm x 33m in premium and economy grades across a full colour set, including yellow/green for earth identification. The specialist line is cable length ID tape, a 24mm x 33m PVC roll in a consistent colour code that flags cable length at a glance from 1m through to 50m, so a rental store can wrap a band at each connector and read the whole rack by colour. A 15mm x 60m double-sided fabric tape handles carpet, fabric and set-dressing jobs.

Tapes sit alongside our audio, power and data cable ranges, so looms and the consumables that dress them can come from a single trade order.

Tape FAQs

Why gaffer rather than duct tape? Matt cloth backing that stays non-reflective under lights and peels clean without residue, duct tape does neither. The 3130 premium in 48/50 mm × 50 m is the working standard, with white, red and chroma green for camera work.

What tape for cable runs on floors? Wide gaffer over the loom, edges sealed, and colour-coding circuits with marking tapes saves tracing time at strike. Cable discipline lives in the cable care guide.
